Answers, with commentary, if inspired:
1) Rush - Subdivisions. The song just speaks to me, despite living out the whole idea it mourns.
2) "Weird" Al Yankovic - eBay. A change from the past, but this song just still cracks me up.
3) Lynyrd Skynyrd - Gimme Three Steps (guessed by impeccablesimon )
4) Guns 'N' Roses - Paradise City
5) Tom Petty - Free Fallin'
6) Van Halen - Jump. 1984 is a crucial album in my life, actually. We moved away from my dad in November 1983, and this became my favorite tape shortly thereafter. (guessed by aardy )
7) Boston - Piece of Mind
8) Metallica - One ( impeccablesimon )
9) Jimmy Buffett - A Pirate Looks at 40. Of course this song in no way applies to me. Go figure.
10) They Might Be Giants - Ana Ng. I'm almost like an "early adapter" to TMBG since I was aware of them pre-"Flood." The opening riff gets me going. I also love the line, "I don't want the world, I just want your half." |

Regarding yesterday's tweet...I made up for going to bed early 2 nights ago by going to bed pretty late last night.
Here's an update on my guess the song game... impeccablesimontook random guess and got 20%. Surely you don't need to "know: me to get some right. :) Heck, the friend I went to the last 3 Rush concerts can't even guess that one anyways. (He guessed via e-mail..) I'll post answers tonight or tomorrow morning.
1) Rush 2) "Weird" Al Yankovic 3) Lynyrd Skynyrd - Gimme Three Steps (guessed by impeccablesimon ) 4) Guns 'N' Roses 5) Tom Petty 6) Van Halen - Jump (guessed by aardy ) 7) Boston 8) Metallica - One ( impeccablesimon ) 9) Jimmy Buffett 10) They Might Be Giants
Update/clue: I meant the (and the Heartbreakers) parenthetical on Tom Petty to mean it could be either way - for those who really pay attention to the division. I'll now say the track is offically a "Tom Petty" track. |

Your home is a Athletic Gamer's Mansion Your kitchen is stocked with chips, dips, and assorted caffeinated beverages. There's a pantry with emergency backup caffeinated beverages. You also have some breakfast cereals in there, but you haven't had breakfast since last Spring. Your master bedroom has blankets printed with images of Mario and Link. Your study includes unread copies of various gamer magazines, each purchased for the free demo CDs. One of your garages houses your Hummer, and others contain your H2, and H3... with room for an H4, if they ever invent one.
Your home also includes a guest wing and private quarters for your servants. Your guests enjoy your collection of every console and associated game ever made. Except the Intellivision -- those controllers drive them NUTS. Outside is your hedge maze and gardens, meticulously tended by a team of world-class botanists.

| Career Meme |
[Sep. 14th, 2007|10:49 am] |
(This was not one of the memes I was referring to in my last post. I just hadn't gotten around to it yet.)
I love to see the evolution of a meme. I’ve seen this one on at least 15 of my friends list. I’m adding flexible instructions, using all the variations I’ve seen so far. [Edit 9/18/2007]: Apparently the login information for the careercruising meme was a leaked password. It's a for pay site, and some user faces potential big trouble for allowing so many accesses. Therefore I've removed the link and password info.
4. Post as many results as you would like. (commonly 10-25) 5. Indicate careers you have seriously considered. (I use bold, for example) 6. Indicate careers you've had or that are closely related - past or present. (I use Italics, for example) 7. Indicate those that are “WTF worthy”. (I use red text, for example) My list:
1. Technical Writer 2. GIS Specialist 3. Research Analyst (Financial) 4. Epidemiologist 5. Political Aide 6. Real Estate Appraiser 7. Insurance Claims Adjuster 8. Criminologist 9. Auditor 10. Actuary
Nothing too shocking, for the most part. Although I mark it as a WTF, I kind of understand the logic behind Composer. |

to do a "what kind of __" are you meme and then not post the results sice you don't like them?
Also, I would do the 25 concerts meme, but as far as I have figured out, I don't even have 25 to list. |

 Mingle2 - Online Dating
The only mark against me was 1 use of the word "pissed" apparently. Of course in the "real world" that one mention would drop it to PG.
And now there's 2 mentions. :) |

Yanked from heronymus_waat.
-Bold all of the following TV shows which you've ever seen 3 or more episodes of in your lifetime. -Italicize a show if you're positive you've seen every episode of it. -Underline the ones you own copies of -If you want, add up to 3 additional shows (keep the list in alphabetical order).
Yeah, I watch (watched, in many cases) a lot of TV. I also see a lot of kid shows. I’ll admit that I find a few of the Disney Channel sitcoms funny.
Disclosures: Some that I marked as "positive seeing every episode" are really more like 99% positive in that I watched them so much in syndication that odds are I saw all of them. Some of the ones I marked as “owned” actually means I still have VHS recordings of them. |

This one made its first go around some time ago. However, the site was blocked from one of my usual surfing locations, and I would forget about on the weekends...
| You scored as Casual Gamer. To the Casual Gamer, a roleplaying session is first and foremost a social activity enjoyed with one’s friends. The Casual Gamer enjoys gaming well enough, but participates mostly because that’s what his friends do. He’s usually the one least into the game rules, campaign events, or even his own character, and may even get distracted during the session—but that doesn’t mean he isn’t having fun. For the Casual Gamer, the greatest reward of the game is just hanging out and having fun with friends.
With apologies to Robin Laws.

The result is peculiar to me in that one one hand I totally agree, in terms of style and specifically related to when I play - as opposed to running/GMing. So, including that side, I'm the guy who usually runs and organizes the games, hardly casual behaviors... |

| Quote Shakespeare meme |
[Apr. 12th, 2007|01:43 pm] |
Seen on enough journals that I will submit:
Once you see this, quote Shakespeare on your own lj...
Hamlet: Let me see. [Takes the skull.] Alas, poor Yorick!--I knew him, Horatio; a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy: he hath borne me on his back a thousand times; and now, how abhorred in my imagination it is! my gorge rises at it. Here hung those lips that I have kiss'd I know not how oft. Where be your gibes now? your gambols? your songs? your flashes of merriment, that were wont to set the table on a roar? Not one now, to mock your own grinning? quite chap-fallen? Now, get you to my lady's chamber, and tell her, let her paint an inch thick, to this favour she must come; make her laugh at that.-- Pr'ythee, Horatio, tell me one thing. |

The Everything Test There are many different types of tests on the internet today. Personality tests, purity tests, stereotype tests, political tests. But now, there is one test to rule them all.
